Invitation
Welcome to IDMC-15, the 15th edition of the International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium meeting
May 26th to May 30th 2026
We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming edition of our event, which will take place in the beautiful Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada.
This region is internationally recognized to have the highest prevalence of DM1 worldwide and being very active on the research scene since the 80s. The longest ongoing natural history study has originated here in 2002 and it is the home of the Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les maladies neuromusculaires (GRIMN).
The Saguenay–Lac-St-Jean regions is also renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality; this location provides the perfect setting for scientific engagement and social gathering. In addition, given the strong community engagement with our patient population, they will provide some direct insights during the conference.
This event will offer an incredible opportunity to learn about recent advancements, exchange ideas, and build connections among all those involved in the field of myotonic dystrophy: researchers, clinicians, patients, patients partners, patient associations, and representatives and professionals from the pharmaceutical industry.
IDMC-15 promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, featuring cutting-edge presentations, interdisciplinary sessions, and thought-provoking discussions. It will be a unique chance to soak in a very special location to learn about the history of myotonic dystrophy type 1 in Québec from those who played a key role in influencing its awareness among the population and its care trajectory with evidence-based knowledge.
